Robot in Jail › Laws › Innocent until proven guilty

😇 Innocent until proven guilty

Nobody is guilty just because people say so. The side that accuses someone has to show proof, and until it does, the accused is treated as innocent. This protects everyone, because any of us could be blamed for something we did not do.

😇 In the game: “Innocent until proven”

Nobody is guilty because a crowd says so.

You learn this law in Who took the Sun-Gear?, The Sun-Gear rises, in the Sun-Gear mystery. Then you can pass it in your town Council, where it belongs to 🕊️ Liberty.

+ Income +3% (a calm town) − Towers catch 5% less

Every law in the game has an upside and a cost, just like real rules.

In real life

Courts in most countries start from this rule. It is why a news report says someone is “accused” or “charged”, not “guilty”, until a court decides.

Think about it

Why is it worse to punish an innocent person than to let a guilty one go, at least sometimes?
